On Dec 9,2022, we introduced “A Niu Way Forward – Naya Jiwan Saili”, a campaign dedicated to all our existing customers, where they get to share their stories of cruising miles with their Niu electric scooter and how Niu impacted their lives, and we get to pamper them with hampers of Niu goodies, gifts and exciting exchange offers based on milestones of 20000, 30000, and 40000 km travelled on their Niu.
With this campaign, we sat with some old and ‘niu’ customers who were generous enough to give us some time of their day to talk about their experience with Niu and we’ve got some amazing responses!
Dhurba Man Pradhan – “I have recommended Niu to everyone in my circle.”
Meet Mr. Dhurba Man Pradhan, an Accounting Consultant who works in two travel agencies! He bought his Niu in late 2017 because of his frustrations towards the petrol shortages and price fluctuations in Nepal.
And in his 5+ years of experience has been so great that he has even influenced his neighbours into buying Niu. On the 34800+ kilometres he has travelled with Niu, he loves that it contributes to no sound and air pollution and has an easy self start, even during cold winter.
Achit Tamang – “Niu is worth the money”
A freelance musician, and all-time Niu rider! Mr. Achit Tamang believes that buying NIU has been worth the money as he has saved around fifty to sixty thousands just on petrol expenses per year. He picked Niu around August of 2017 as he was somewhat an electric vehicle enthusiast himself and Niu, particularly, had good reviews in the market.
In his 5.5 years long ride with Niu, he stated that Niu has been comfortably easy to ride, and he loved the fact that it is “smart scooty” which lets you track the vehicle from a mobile app and has a great GPS navigation system. Addressing people with range anxiety, Mr. Tamang says that it only takes a month or two to get used to the range functionality of the Niu scooters.
Bibhusan Mani Pokhrel – “The ‘Apple’ of electric scooter in Nepal. ”
He’s self-employed and a student – talk about Range.
With the reference of a close cousin, Mr. Pokhrel had bought his Niu around 3 years ago hearing that Niu was the best in its segment, then. And after cruising almost 12000 km with the electric scooter, he now knows why!
Reminiscing of the time his brother told him that Niu is the “Apple of electric scooter in Nepal”, Mr. Pokhrel states that Niu electric scooters are a “package” – very economical, superb performance, looks beautiful, is fun to ride, is good for the environment, and is more than sufficient for daily use in the city. Other than that, being a student and self employed, he loves the fact Niu aids in Saving money on every aspect for him.
Sarbagya Poudel – “The very best electric scooter for students”
It has only been 7 months for Ms. Sarbagya Poudel with her Niu. Being a first year undergrad, Ms. Poudel’s daily routine just consists of going to college and coming back home most of the time. And, the interesting fact is a full charge can last her up to a week on most cases.
For students like her who are always on a budget, she explained electric scooters like Niu are the very best as there are no petrol expenses and extra maintenance costs. She also loves the fact that Niu is easy to ride with amazing speed control and smart features like convenient diagnosis of the condition of the scooter in the Niu app.
Roshan Shrestha – “Top notch quality in terms of battery life and motor”
Niu N1s Civic was Mr. Roshan Shrestha’s first ever ride that he owned. Around the end of 2017, he had called the Niu showroom for a Test Ride at his home, and we delivered. Being impressed with the electric scooter’s performance in the difficult uphill roads of Thimi, he knew he had found the first ever ride he would own.
Mr. Shrestha, who now works as a Freelancer Fitness Coach, has had a number of crises like a first-time rider usually does. But, the after sales service of Niu is what stole Mr. Shrestha’s heart, as he shares his story of Niu’s service staff saving him from being stranded during one night. The 28000 km riding experience in Niu for him has saved around fifty thousand to one lakh, he exclaims.
Saurav Bajracharya – “Best Scooty to commute in the city”
In 9 months, Mr. Saurav Bajracharya has already travelled 8000+ km on Niu. And in his words Niu is “The best scooty to commute in the city”! He has been able to travel 30-40 km daily without any range anxiety and saved almost 45000 in only 9 months.

Summary
Most of the Nepali customers switch to Niu and other electric scooters because of the fluctuating petrol prices and its unpredictable shortages in Nepal.
